Welcome to The Midwest Classic! We put on a truck show for people of all ages! This show started 6 years ago in the height of COVID, where one of our local shows wasn't goin to be put on, so I decided that I wasn't going to let that happen! It started at a race track just south of council bluffs, for two years. Just a wash it and park it show. Three years ago I had a friend join me in helping plan the show and we decided to move to Oakland, Nebraska where we've been for 3 years now. Our mission is to show the general public a good time and some of the best trucks the US has to offer! We've had trucks from as far away as Idaho join our little show. What started with 40 trucks has now grown to 146 trucks as of last year. An estimated 1500+ people attending our two day event.
As of last year we raised over $10,000 dollars total from our sponsors and participants! What does this money go towards? Well first we pay the bills, which add up quickly!! The rest,totaling $5200, goes towards the Kroy Vandenberg Scholarship Fund! Our friends, Brad and Valerie Vandenberg hand out scholarships to kids attending Vocational Schools from the very area our show is held at!!
This scholarship fund was started by Brad and Valerie after they lost their son Kroy at a very young age. Kroy was a rambunctious young man and loved by everyone in the community. He loved farming, trucking and his family! Kroy passed away at the young age of 9 from a rare disease that took him very quickly. In his honor they started the scholarship fund, to help local Nebraska kids to fulfill their dreams. Through the contributions of our sponsors and antendees we are able to continue his legacy!
